So my air conditioning vents started smoking on Friday and I had to have Josh take me back to work.
It turns out the tensioner pulley was clogged with gunk and the ball bearings fell out. And since the pulley wasn’t doing what it was supposed to, the serpentine belt snapped. The smoke was from burning rubber. The serpentine belt is also connected to the a/c and power steering and the alternator, so it’s a good thing I didn’t drive it after I noticed the smoke.
Luckily my friend was able to fix it for me for just the cost of the parts (around $50).
Thank the Gods.
