I got a few requests for a tutorial and layout for this, so I went ahead and made one. I changed my main screen a little bit because I think the black box fits better. Also, I needed a little tidbit for the last sentence in there, and my phone DOES randomly freeze for no reason and needs restarting every other day or so lol.

Here is the zip with all the UCCW widgets, wallpapers, and instructions.

Josh is up in Michigan taking a basic skills test for a job (which we’re hoping he gets so we can move back) and it’s been the longest day off EVER. And I was inspired to wipe my phone and create a Scott Pilgrim layout.

I made the wallpaper with various images I found, and the icons are all made from scratch with UCCW. The lockscreen uses a bubble widget made by Pooley.

Yesterday, we had to take our dog to the vet because he was vomiting and defacating blood.

They don’t know what’s wrong, but so far it’s cost us $400 to have him stay overnight. Neither Josh nor I had this money to begin with, and I honestly have no idea what we’re going to do. So I’m going to try to sell a couple of things I have knitted already as well as a couple that are made to order.

Ramona Flowers fingerless gloves (same color, same fit, same size) ready to ship: $50

Bella Swan mittens (any color you choose, super long and stretchy) made to order: $50

Alice Cullen handwarmers (any color you choose, super stretchy) made to order: $50

Ravenclaw Scarf (movie colors, double knit so double thickness, really long and warm and perfect and I love it; I can also do different colors for different houses on a made-to-order basis for the same price) ready to ship: $65

Message me if you have any interest at all and I will set up a custom etsy.com listing for you. Feel free to share, any help at all is appreciated.

My “I’m in lesbians with you” wool arrived a little while ago. I am absolutely in love with it. It is sooo much better in person. I’m making a cover out of it for my Nexus which is about 90% done, just need to knit the flap with the buttonhole and add the button. Then I’ve got plenty left to make a triangle scarf/shawl thing out of it. I should probably stop looking at LadyPurl’s etsy as she has so many gorgeous geeky inspired yarns. You should check her out!

OMG it’s Scott Pilgrim yarn. This is amazing.

Doctor Who vs the Universe

Due to having my paycheck cut by approximately $240 a month, I’m pretty strapped for cash. Therefor, I’m offering up some knit stuff for sale. These are basically just examples, anything that’s discussed will be made to order just for you. Prices vary, but because of the handmade nature, they won’t be your run-of-the-mill $5 gloves from Target. I promise that the price will be worth it, though, and that your handmade item will last for a really long time, plus be much warmer than machine-knit junk you buy at a department store.

Here’s an example:

I charge $55 for the handwarmers in the 4th picture. The yarn I use to make them costs $20, plus about $5 shipping. Assuming it takes me a total of 10 hours to make them (if I knit quickly), I’m only paying myself $2.50 an hour (after taking out $5 to ship them to you).

A ravenclaw scarf (or whichever house) I’d probably charge around $60-$70 because it’s double knit (which means it’s double thickness, extra warm) and the one and only time I’ve made one, it took me a solid 2 weeks of almost constant knitting, probably about 30 hours. After yarn cost and shipping, I’m paying myself $1.25 an hour.

I can knit practically anything, just drop me a message and we can discuss. The thicker the yarn, the quicker it’ll be for me to make it, therefor the cheaper it’ll be.

Feel free to reblog or pass it along to anyone you may think would be interested!!

I knit myself some Ramona Flowers handwarmers a couple years ago. They’re awesome.

Part of my desk. Excuse me, I’m actually a 12 year old who plays with toys.
