Pretty happy they didn’t announce a new Nexus 7 at Google I/O yesterday since I just got mine a week ago.
Josh’s mom got me T and J Pandora charms for my birthday. My bracelet’s filling up quick! ♥

My huge 14 pound 7 year old cat still thinks it’s okay to make me hold him with one arm so he can cuddle by my face when I’m using the computer. He was so happy he was drooling.

A little keychain I made using shrinky dinks, colored pencils, and a sharpie. I placed the skrinky dink paper over my monitor and traced TsaoShin’s beautiful art I found here, then colored it in. My shading is obviously not as good as hers, but I’m pretty impressed with how it turned out!
A print I got Josh for his birthday of Batman made of bats. It was created by Melissa Smith and is available here.
I feel like I wanna puke and then cry. I really need to get on some kind of birth control and balance all this bullshit out. I can’t handle feeling like a sobbing psychotic mess every month.
Oh, I almost forgot. On the small bright side, I will be getting a little promotion (of sorts) at work. Instead of being the cashier (which pays barely enough for me to scrape by), I will be moving to the sales desk. Which sounds scary. Mostly because I’m a sucky salesperson, but I feel that really only counts because in the past, I was forced to try and get people to buy things they don’t need. At a mulch and stone yard, people pretty much already know what they need going in. Plus, I know almost everything about all of the products.
Also, pay increase. I don’t know how much, but I’m hoping at least $2.

Thank you guys! I completely agree, he should at least be reimbursed. Booking a flight a week out ain’t cheap. And as they say, when a door closes, a window opens.
But it still really sucks. Obviously, this was a possibility, and even though I was trying to prepare for both scenarios, I was about 75% sure he’d get it. It’s just devastating.
I don’t normally post too much about my personal life, but I mentioned a few weeks ago that my boyfriend of 5 1/2 years had applied for a very good job up in his home state of Michigan. He initially applied at the end of January.
He was selected to test somewhere in the middle of February. On the morning of his brother’s wedding (a couple weeks ago), he interviewed for this job.
And today we found out he didn’t get it.
This is absolutely crushing. We spent money we did not have (and still do not have) for him to go up there. There is literally nothing else he could have done. It’s a good 14 hour drive from here to there. I am stunned and incredibly angry.
He feels awful because he feels he has let everyone down, when in reality, this company has let all of us down. What was the point? I could see if we already lived in Michigan and they made him take all of those steps and miss out. We’d be annoyed, sure. But to come up from 5 states away twice?
Thanks for wasting our time and money, as well as getting our hopes up. Thanks a lot.
FINALLY got home. We left southern Michigan last night around 6:30. After taking a really weird, winding road through Ohio, it had started raining and it was so dark, we got too tired to continue. We stopped at a hotel in Charleston, West Virginia and paid $100 to borrow a bed in which to sleep for four hours.
Then, when we finally get back to North Carolina around 3:30, I drove my Mom to the airport (she was watching the dogs) only to come back and find that it smelled like cooked cat pee in the house and that she had accidentally locked a cat in the bedroom who proceeded to pee and poop all over poor Bruxley’s bed. Also she left tons of dirty dishes and trash everywhere.
WHAT THE FUCK. Welcome home?
So I think I mentioned it a few weeks ago, but Josh applied for a really great job in Michigan.
His family and friends are all in Michigan, and he’s been talking about moving back since we got together over 5 years ago.
1,500 applied for this job. 800 tested. And Josh got one of the interviews.
We are so excited! Luckily, his interview happens to be during the time period we’ll already be up there.
It would be so perfect if we could move. I love all of his family and friends, and my sister will be having a baby in October.
Cross your fingers for us!!
Great day off yesterday! Our city does this thing every year called “Be a Tourist in Your Hometown”. A bunch of local places let you in for free with a driver’s license showing your county. The dumb girl at work told me the Battleship participated in this. Lo and behold, they did not, and we ended up paying $12 a piece to get in. But it was actually really neat! This is Josh at the stern of the U.S.S. North Carolina.
After that, we went to Front Street Brewery for lunch. We also picked up a 64 oz. jug of Port City IPA beer and some glasses for his brother and (soon-to-be) sister-in-law for their wedding coming up in a couple weeks.

Forgot to post this yesterday, I cut off about 4” of my hair last night! Well, I didn’t, but I paid someone to. I love it. Also, my head is so much lighter now.
WE FINALLY GOT A DRYER! I know no one cares, but I’m so excited I had to share. Used (obviously) but it works and it dries clothes! NO MORE LAUNDROMAT!!!!!!!
I washed (and dried! yay!) the dog’s blankies last night. They were all snuggled up in them still warm from the dryer.
(also I’d like to point out that I took this picture last night around 7, and when I got up this morning at 4:30, Bruxley [on the left] was still in the exact same spot.)
